Poetry

“show me
the houses drowning in rooftops
and butchered vines simmering
in the concrete death of summer”

I started writing poetry back in 2012 and knew instantly that this was the language through which I would make sense of the rest of my life. After attending the Duke Young Writers Camp for four summers as a teen, then losing my voice as a writer in college, and finally rediscovering it a few years back, I began submitting my work for publication in late 2023. Much of my work deals with memory, nostalgia, and attempting to figure out how the human brain chooses to process its place in the world.
